Dental Care

At The Veterinary Wellness Center, we focus on treating your whole pet. One aspect of pet care that pet parents often overlook is dental health. Regular dental care for your cat or dog is integral to their overall health! The Veterinary Wellness Center proudly offers superior pet dental care, including cleaning, polishing, extractions, and dental X-rays.

It’s More than Fresh Breath

Dental disease is one of the most common health issues our pets face. Recent studies have shown that by the time a dog or cat is three years old, they’re showing some signs of periodontal disease. As periodontal disease advances, it leads to pain, tooth loss, and a decreased quality of life. The harmful bacteria in the mouth spread to other parts of the body, causing damage to a pet’s kidneys, liver, and heart.

Signs your pet might have a dental issue include:

  • Drooling, chewing oddly, or dropping food from the mouth
  • Reduced appetite or behavior changes
  • Facial swelling
  • Bad breath
  • Loose, broken, or discolored teeth
  • Bloody saliva
  • Pawing or rubbing at their mouth

We recommend annual dental exams for all pets and professional dental procedures as your veterinarian recommends. Regular brushing with pet-friendly toothpaste, providing dental chews and toys, and incorporating dental diets into your pet’s nutrition plan can help reduce plaque and tartar buildup.
