A 2006 graduate of Colorado State University’s School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Barrett completed an Internship in Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Emergency Medicine in New Mexico and practiced with New Hampshire veterinarians before opening her own practice in 2012. She joined the Veterinary Wellness Center in 2023. Dr. Barrett has a special interest in integrating alternative and conventional veterinary medicine to tailor pain management and long-term care. She is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) and practices herbal and food therapy. Dr. Barrett holds the following certifications and memberships:

Prior to veterinary medicine, Masuma was a Software Engineer for 12 years and served with the Peace Corps in Central America. Her lifelong love for animals and passion for animal welfare prompted her to change careers to the animal care field. Her two dogs, Kenji and Maya, allow her to share their home. In her spare time, she enjoys biking, reading, and swimming.
